How to Care for the Revolution?

Wed, December 2, 2015 @ 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

$6.00 – $15.00

A talk by EVA von REDECKER

The talk will discuss the Marxist notion of unalienated labor against the dystopia of reproductive labor under patriarchy. It searches for collective practices in which need-oriented labor is rehearsed in an anticipatory-utopian way. Can we care in a way that momentarily disrupts both the logic of valuation and of (hetero)sexism, or can we only develop the radical need to do so?

EVA von REDECKER is based at the Philosophy Department of Humboldt-University, Berlin. This fall of 2015, she’s the Heuss Lecturer at the New School for Social Research. Her work is in Critical Theory and focuses on topics such as history, revolution, gender, sexuality and property.
