For a one-time sliding scale fee of $150, $200, or $250 attend any and all classes and events of The Marxist Education Project. For $50 more ($200, $250 or $300) bring a guest as often as you would like to the classes and events between now and February 20, 2020 (so it is really a 4.5 month pass). On October 16 A Brief History of Class Warfare will take place at an ongoing Aaron Burr Society exhibit at Empy Circle Space. Jim Costanzo will speak to his recent work as well as provide video and hand out FREE MONEY. Juliet Ucelli is conducting Psychology for Activists on Wednesdays at The People’s Forum. Also on Wednesdays is a new offering considering the political and historical writings of Marx and Engles which is being read side by side with Hal Draper’s Karl Marx’s Theory of Revolution.With payment a pdf voucher will be sent that you can present to any of the venues where activities will take place. There are a number of new classes and events in the works including: Unearthing The Grundrisse, Invention of the White Race, a new literature series featuring the works of Robert Graves, while the Eco-Socialist group carries on with a discussion of Staying With the Trouble, considering the works of Donna Harraway and others. On October 30 we feature at The People’s Forum Melancholia Africana: The Indispensable Overcoming of the Black Condition with author Nathalie Etoke and conversation with fellow panelists Lewis R. Gordon and Souleymane Bachir Diagne. The Final Friday film series which includes screenings with discussion on the last Friday evening of each month at The Peoples Forum will feature Kurosawa’s The Bad Sleep Well, a documentary on Stuart Hall in November and a fresh look at Bertolucci’s 1900 in December. The Zones of Liberation series continues on November 9 featuring Paul, Grey, Rafael Khachaturian and Steve Maher, which will consider Strategies for Socialism and The State. During the first weeks of December we will also present After the Last Repast with choreographer and social historian Marjia Krtolica a new dance of the spectator and spectacle with surrealist brunch to follow.
